  • Below is the profile for the School of Business Studies and Accountancy

The main objective of the School of Education is to produce outstanding teachers, for both primary and secondary school levels, equipped to effectively drive the pace of education at these levels in Zambia to extremely high stands to match international standards. Our goal is to develop a School anchored on knowledge and driven by a strong and innovative leadership. The current programmes of the school have been designed and developed through research and with extensive consultations, evidence drawn from community, national and international experiences in order to deliver outstanding undergraduate and graduate programs. In designing the academic programmes of the school, we have taken into account existing policies of the Ministries of Higher and General Education, in relation to teaching subjects, and duration of study, which affect Teachers career progression trends.

It is our goal to broaden the experiences and education of our undergraduates by drawing upon the wide spectrum of specialization with the Trinity University through electives. Therefore, we will provide personalised, interactive undergraduate education programmes for all our students. We shall also provide appropriate, guided and monitored teaching experience, by attaching our learners to regulated schools, for monitoring and evaluation by teachers in those institutions and our own experienced lecturers.

Targeted outcomes

Through the programmes of the school, our main target is to expose our learners to the following:

  1. Fundamental Learning: To develop students’ skills in key areas such as literacy and numeracy to enhance competence in learning mediation, assessment and management/administration;
  2. Effective subject and Content of Teaching: Focusing on equipping students with skills, values and attitudes needed for development as an educator;
  3. Teaching and Learning: To enable students to deal with general learning and teaching issues and processes to enhance their roles as mediators, administrators, leaders, interpreters  and designers of learning programs and materials, as well as for pastoral roles.
  4. Conducting and supervision of research: Through compulsory, but supervised research projects, students will be prepared to plan, conduct and write a research report on the assignment.
